Hello! My name is Oscar Alejandro "Alex" Mills. I am a Communication Arts major finishing out my fourth year as a Posse scholar at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I am currently employed as a Project Manager for the UW College Library Circulation department where I am producing video content to showcase the huge catalog of materials that the library offers. I will also be working in my hometown of DC this summer for the DC Public Library as a team lead for the Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program.

I am driven by a passion for media creation, with an emphasis on narrative audio and videography.
From working on short narratives and documentary-style pieces to publicity videos and edits of talent from local music scenes, I am so fascinated by every step of the process of planning, shooting, and editing digital content. My favorite part of the process is sharing your content with others. Getting reactions, feedback for improvement, and seeing the different ways that people interact with the projects that I've worked on is what pushes me to keep making more. I feel that I can express myself in ways that other people can understand better than just with my voice alone. But on a much bigger scale, digital media can help tell the perspectives of those who have difficulty voicing their experiences.

In my free time I like to produce videos about my favorite Madison bands like Cause and Control, and you can often catch me talking about my latest horror movie obsession. Going forward, I aspire to produce feature length work (with a focus on horror!) but I love working in every field of video creation. I also love pets, and my neighbor's cat Cleo features in a lot of my photos. I'm still learning to cook but I know the recipe for banana bread pretty much in my sleep, so any event with both me and food usually has a bundt cake-shaped loaf ready.
